In many situations, packing is not a very difficult job and can be done on your own, provided the right
materials and knowledge. In fact, you can save as much as 30% to 40% off your total moving cost by doing
your research, planning in advance and packing smart. You can even make it a fun family activity.
Here are some helpful tips

Start your preparation well ahead. You will need the following materials:
• cardboard boxes
• packing tape
• colored-coded stickers or labels
• glassware wrapping paper and a bubble wrap
|

Start by packing the items that you will use least often. Empty the content of all the furniture drawers and
book shelves into the cardboard boxes, but do not overfill the boxes beyond their volume or weight capacity.
The boxes should be taped top and bottom, and it is a good idea to label them, so that you can something
quickly if needed. When ready, stack these boxes along the walls, rather than in the middle of the rooms or
in passage ways. The easier it is to maneuver through your house, the faster and smoother your move will be.

Pack your bedding and clothes into black contractor’s grade bags. You can purchase these at the Home Depot
or Rona. We have wardrobe boxes available for use and they are free if you return them before we leave your house.

|
We carry tools to disassemble beds, desks and other furniture, but it will you save time if these are done beforehand.
|
|
Pack all your loose items. We will take care of your furniture.
