Q: What is travel time?
A: Travel time is a flat rate fee and it is only applied for hourly priced jobs. Usually it is equal to one hour job rate. Travel time is used mostly by moving companies from big cities like Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa where driving from the company’s parking facilities to the customer address can take 1 or 2 hours due the distance or the traffic. If you live in a small Canadian town like Regina, Niagara Falls, or Barrie, and you’re moving locally with your local moving company you will probably never been heard about the travel time.

Q: I live in Scarborough and I go to work in Mississauga every day. I spent 2 hours every day travelling, and my employer doesn’t cover my travelling expenses. Why should I pay travel time?
A: We also don’t pay our employees for the time it takes them to arrive at work. Their jobs start when the driver starts the truck engine and the crew starts moving to the customer’s address. And this travel is considering like a job and it can take a lot of time.

Q: Are your prices different varying on the time of the month it is?
A: Express Movers do not take advantage of the “End of the Month” moving rush. Our prices are steady throughout the entire month. We have winter discounts available from January to March. Call us any time, and if we are able to lower our advertised prices, we will be happy to do it for you.
Q: Is insurance included in the price?
A: A basic coverage of 80 cents per pound is included in the price. If you need full replacement value coverage, expect to pay upfront extra. The insurance coverage up to 4 dollars per pound with a maximum of 5000 dollars per move is included in the total price when you move long distance with Express Movers. Your antic and the items which have an extra ordinary value are not insured by our insurance policy.
